Bob's Hope was christened by good ol Bob Hope... this might be the coolest thing I find all day



Nose art showed an Indian riding a bomb looking though a periscope overtop a star on a circular background.



all these photos are from one moment, in New Guinea on 15 September 1944.

Bob Hope and party received a tumultuous welcome from a Consolidated B24 Liberator formation based in Dutch New Guinea. Hope christened the machine 'Bob's Hope' which was named in his honour.

The personnel with the unit were pioneers of the bombing raids on Palou, Uap and the Philippines. They belong to 'Ken's-men' force.

 Assigned to the 43rd Bombardment Group, 64th Bombardment Squadron.
